Angle Practice: Match the Target Angle
Angle hands you a number in degrees and a needle on a horizontal baseline. You turn the needle to that angle and let go. The practice page runs the event on its own and reports the error in degrees.
How Angle is played
- 1
Read the target
Ordinary targets fall between 5° and 355°, measured counter-clockwise from the baseline. Splitting the number into a quarter turn plus a remainder is usually easier than seeing it whole.
- 2
Drag to the angle
Drag the handle around the dial, or nudge it with the arrow keys: one degree a press, five with Shift held. The needle locks the moment you release.
- 3
Read the error
The result shows your needle against the target, the gap in degrees and the resulting score. A normal question already scores 61 at 8° off.
Angle questions
Which way is the angle measured?
Counter-clockwise from a horizontal baseline pointing right. 0° and 360° sit at three o’clock, 90° at twelve, and 180° at nine.
Can I use the keyboard instead of dragging?
Yes. The arrow keys move the needle one degree per press and five with Shift held; the needle locks exactly as it does after a drag.
Why do Friday angles go past 360°?
The Friday variant asks for more than one turn, from 400° to 1040°, and measures the absolute gap rather than the shortest way round the circle. A 720° target is two full turns of the dial.
